If you are a student who want to work towards a better world, a greener planet, and a more prosperous society, where do you go?

Station is a cross-disciplinary innovation powerhouse for students.

We are a place, a community, and a playground.

Place
We are located in the former Frederiksberg Police Station, which we have transformed into a state-of-the-art innovation powerhouse, where students meet across disciplines and connect with societal partners.

In the spirit of DIY, we were able to raise more than 60 million DKK to transform the building, establish our organisational backbone, build the community, and create our wide portfolio of activities.

Station is your hang-out hotspot where you go to get energised, inspired and refuelled from our barista specials and the occasional free pizza.

Community
Station is the world’s first student-driven innovation house, founded by students to leverage innovation in the wider student community. We are on a mission to make great things happen by putting our knowledge, diversity and curiosity into action. Our community represents more than 400 students from 8 universities and educational institutions. Whether you are a fun-loving socialite, a natural-born innovator, (or just plain curious), you are likely to be the next indispensable part of our community.

Playground
Creating societal impact in cross-disciplinary collaborations is no picnic. Working together across disciplines require practice, but we assure you it is good fun along the way.

Among the many offers from the Station playground is our student-run consultancy Millennial Consulting, our cross-disciplinary sustainability program Sustainability Advocates, our very own tech media, UNIGMA, our design-driven innovation course, and our global start up hacker community START Hack. Through these programs you can bend your skills, meet new friends, and make your mark.

A cross-disciplinary innovation powerhouse

A movement pioneering societal change

Great things are rarely accomplished by just one person.

In the greater Copenhagen area, there are more than 80.000 students, their disciplines spanning over multiple disciplines - everything from computer science, art, anthropology, engineering, and business to just name a few.

The world is filled with complex and pressing challenges. Challenges that require different perspectives, skill sets, and forms of knowledge. Challenges that can’t be solved by an engineer, a businesswoman or an architect alone. We believe students have an essential role to play in the sustainable transition of our society. As students, we spend endless hours in the library, the lab, and the lecture halls immersing ourselves in knowledge. We see us as students as an enormous contribution to the innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem. We built Station to unite and mobilize the wider student community in collectively putting their knowledge into action – and meanwhile equipping ourselves with the tools, teams, and mindset necessary to create an impact on ourselves, oursociety, and planet.

Together with trusted partners, we take studying to the next level through embarking on an unforgettable journey to create the future we want for ourselves, our communities, and our planet.

A new movement in an old building

Station isnot only an idea and a movement, but also a physical space that enables students and other actors to meet and inspire each other to change the world.

In December 2017 we proudly signed the contract of acquiring the Old Police Station at Frederiksberg. Since then, the approximately 3700 m2 old brick building has been transformed into a visionary powerhouse for student innovation that opened in October 2020.

The space is an inclusive platform for interdisciplinary collaboration and an enabling playground that encourages curiosity, diversity, and entrepreneurial minds. Station offers state-of-the-art facilities for collaborative workshops, engaging meetings, immersive work, and much more. We even have a conference room that supports live streaming of events and a courtyard that can betransformed into a festival site.

If you wish to pay us a visit, you are always welcome to come and grab a cup of coffee for studying or just hanging out at our public café, Central Station, situated on the ground floor.

Who we are and how we are organised

Station is formally run by the non-profit Station foundation with the purpose of creating an impact-driven, visionary and engaging student and graduate community, which activities and users create positive societal change through engagement, curiosity, responsibility, and collaboration.

Community
Our community is the 350+ students and graduates who are members of Station or are engaged through their student organisations. Without our members, Station would simply be brick and mortar.

Backbone
Station's backbone is formed by our volunteering Falcon team and employees. Station's Falcons provide a key function in developing and building our community as well as managing our portfolio of programmes and activities. The backbone carries out the support and overall development of our organisation and its activities, including administrational and financial tasks.

Board of Student and Partner Representatives
At Station, we are committed to building an open, inclusive and collaborative community that welcomes every student and young professional regardless of education, background and interest. Together, we wish to affect societal change from new ways of engaging and collaborating, and empower each other to build sustainable solutions for a better future. In order to succeed on this mission, we have established two Boards of Representatives each supporting us in reaching our strategic goals:

The Board of Student Representatives is working to ensure that Station remains relevant to students and graduates of all kinds. The board is formed by representatives from Station's Programmes, Student Councils at higher education, student Initiatives in Station and individual members. See who is a part of the Board of Student Representatives here.

Every Station member can request to join or be appointed to the board by clicking here.

The Board of Partner Representatives is working to ensure that Station remains relevant to societal partners. The board is formed by representatives from educational institutions, foundations, governmental institutions, interest organisations, nonprofit organisations, businesses and individuals. See who is a part of the Board of Partner Representatives here.

If you wish to join the Board of Partner Representatives please reach out to: [email protected]

Board of Directors
Station's Board Directors is established to ensure that our organisation continuous to drive valuable activities and strategic decision making that serve the interests of our foundation, and complies with the bylaws of our organisation.
